Desaster for the TM-Organization....
(the danger of being isolated and surrounded by YES-men ...).

02.01.2006.

That's why the NLP was a horrible disaster for the TMO.

They should NEVER have done it, it was wrong, and it was just another nail in the coffin of what was once a great movement.

Maharishi said he had hoped to take over the political administration of the world, and apparently believed he could do it.

Hence, the NLP.

Another example of the danger of being isolated and surrounded by Yes men.

I've been involved in political parties myself.

Indeed, like the NLP, they were newly-created third parties.

In the excitment of a "cause" one can really get taken away with what one is doing and think that everyone else in society is thinking the way you do...

come election day when you think you're going to get a whole bunch of votes and all you get is a couple of 100...well, it's a great dose of reality...

when I think about the TMO, I'm reminded of this quote from Jung:

"Hysterical self- deceivers...pretend to be seekers after God in order not to have to face the truth that they are extra-ordinary egoists."

No, actually, Jung was more precise.
The hysterical desire to be considered extraordinary is *exactly* the thing that makes them ordinary.

By comparison, those who actually *do* stand out in the world of spirituality as extraordinary are the ones who seem to never give a thought to them- selves and their own importance.

They're too busy working for the welfare of others to worry about such pettiness.

1. The idea to bring in an alternative political group was quite timely.
In germany, new groups were entering the parliament very easily at that time.

2.But to operate a big group, needs a certain way of moderating all the minds.
That seems to be missing in the maharishi-group.

The idea, to tune into the "master" and be coherent amongst a group is not really working. It is good for individuals. But group activity needs different methods.

3. Still there is the need for a spiritual group with a sound and understandable political working scheme.

To start a complete political party 6 weeks BEFORE the election in england, and than thinking of winning it, is really a point for grave internal discussion, if someone doesn`t need a "checking", no ?

The day of the election had an advertisement in the London Times.
It offered all small parties an alliance under the banner of the Natural Law Party.
Quite strange again. Sudden idea, and an offense in the communication towards all the other parties.

With this kind of behaviour, and we have see many of these, of course a group quickly and surely becomes isolated, to say the least.

(In germany, I was "bold" enough to not support or participate in the NLP-experience.
But I was laughing my belly out about all those unbelievable shortcomings in the make-up of that group.)
